A spacious four bedroom rustic style villa with a colourful tropical garden and swimming pool with waterfall

This villa built in 1995 by a Spanish couple has a particularly solid feel, partly due to its thick walls which help to maintain a comfortable cool feeling in summer months - although there are also air conditioners in the main areas if you want the property to be a bit cooler.

At road level there is a large garage with easy access and this connects internally with the property. Also at this level there is a large workshop area as well as a room which currently is set up as an office area but could be converted to a bedroom and some of the adjacent working space could be made into a third bathroom.

The main accommodation which comprises three bedrooms as well as the living areas and kitchen is all located upstairs and is more or less on one level, including the terraces and pool(s). Entering through the front door there is a spacious entrance hall with a cupboard to discretely hang coats and put your shoes, this is also conveniently located close to where the stairs rise from the garage below.

The main bedroom which is at the front of the property with windows facing south to the sea is particularly large, with enough room for a day bed or sofa as well as a large bed, this bedroom also has an en-suite The other two bedrooms which are also large are at the side of the property and have windows overlooking the pool gardens and surrounding terraces. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes but there is additional hanging and storage space outside the second and third bedroom. These two bedrooms share a bathroom which like the en-suite has been finished to a high standard.

The kitchen which is separate from the dining and living area is light and spacious allowing you to comfortably have a breakfast table. The large amount of floor space is not at the expense of storage space as there is a long row of cupboards both under the large arched window, which lets in a lot of light and floor to ceiling cupboards opposite. From the kitchen there is a door leading to the rear walkway which as well as being conveniently located for drying laundry wraps around the house to the terraces and pool.

The dining area has easy access to the terraces and looks out through double doors onto the front terrace where a double swing set is suspended from a wooden structure used to provide shade allowing four people to sit comfortable around a large wooden table. The living area which is slightly lower than the dining area has a large wood burning stove as well as plenty of sitting areas to relax. This area connect directly through double doors onto the main pool terrace where there is another table (for six) located under a wooden pergola with a grape vine creeping over the top.

On this terrace bamboo and other natural materials have been effectively used to create a very tropical ambiance. This is further enhanced by the sparkling waters of the pool which has two distinct parts which are joined by an impressive waterfall (from which the villa gets its Spanish name). The upper pool which flows into the larger pool is very shallow but surrounded by banana plants with too large palm trees which rise high above both pools, this is a perfect place to relax while immersed in refreshingly cool water. The main pool is freeform in shape and sufficiently large and deep to have a good swim.

Throughout the garden, which borders onto undeveloped rustic land, there are a range of tropical plants and trees. The rear of the garden is dominated by a long border of banana trees, other fruits include fig, mango, pomegranate and nispero.

At the far end of the garden there is the pool room which houses the equipment for the pools. Also in this area there is a further space to park a car if required.

Above the living area there is a flat terrace which could be used by the future owner if they wished but at this time does not have access from the ground.

The property was the home of an English couple who have recently moved to another property in the area in a particularly special location and a rare find being right on the waters edge.
