A unique luxury villa near Salobrena in a very special location on the Costa Tropical where villas are rarely for sale.

Words and pictures cannot really do justice to this unique luxury villa. Situated on a 6500m2 plot at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac directly adjoining the sea, this villa really does need to be viewed to fully appreciate the excellence of the location. Where else on the south coast of Spain can one find a property that offers this combination of space, privacy, tranquillity and fabulous views directly on the waters edge?

As long standing property specialists in this area we know nearly all of the most desirable properties here and without hesitation we can say that this property represents a genuine opportunity for a discerning buyer to acquire a truly outstanding waterside home. The villa (often referred to locally as the "James Bond" villa - more of a reference to the Roger Moore era than any other of the Bonds) dates back to the 1970s and is a one off design with its cantilevered structure not dissimilar to the Vandamm house in the film North by North West. The architect was, no doubt, mindfull of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright when designing this property. The entire villa has recently been completely renovated to a high standard by the current owners.

At the entrance to the property there is a garage and parking on site for several cars close to and on the same level as the front door. Inside, the newly installed lift and staircase connect with the main living level below. There are four bedrooms on this main accommodation and terraces level together with the living, dining and kitchen area and a guest bathroom.

The principal bedroom has a private terrace and "walls" of folding double glazed doors, which enables the entire space to be opened thus connecting the inside and outside seamlessly. The spectacular views to Salobreņa and its castle along the rocky coastline and over the sea can be enjoyed both from inside lying in bed as well as from the ample terrace. The large overhang of the roof provides shade so the terrace can be enjoyed even in the height of summer. The bedroom is very large and has good storage space as well as a large en-suite bathroom, which has been finished to the highest of standards.

Two of the other bedrooms at this level (both with en-suite bathrooms) open onto the main terrace area and have views over the infinity pool to the sea. The fourth bedroom, also with en-suite bathroom, is located at the side of the property where it has its own private terrace. In addition there is a one-bedroom apartment above the main accommodation level, which could also be used as guest accommodation or for live-in help.

The kitchen and living room area open onto yet another large terrace that can be used both for eating and relaxing outdoors. The views from this terrace are just as spectacular as those from the main bedroom and terrace and from here there are also views over the infinity pool into the sea directly below. The swimming pool looks directly out to sea and has an energy efficient heat pump and an electric cover that also helps to maintain the temperature of the water. Within the grounds of the property a private path has been made down the side of the hill to the waters edge where it is possible to swim in addition there is a mirador (area to sit and enjoy the views!) below the house as you wind your way down to the sea. A school of dolphins are frequently seen in the sea directly below the villa and some days they put on a real show with the occupants of this property having grandstand seats!

The villa has a built area of around 300m2 and there is also a large undeveloped space within the structure below the main accommodation that could easily be converted for use as media area / home cinema / gym etc etc. Having such a large plot of 6,500 m2 also enables additional accommodation to be built should the next owner so desire.

There are several other high value villas in this exclusive residential area by the sea but no immediate neighbours. It is unusual for such special properties to come on the market as often families do not sell them recognising that a comparable alternative would be difficult to find. Spanish planning laws for the development of land adjacent to the water's edge have become very restrictive during recent years.
