Before we contacted you, we had read probably every book available in the UK on buying a property in Spain. They are all full of caveats, cautions, warnings, and horror stories of what has gone wrong for those who might not have been careful enough and for those who did not have the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise, all of which the two of you possess in great measure. What a great team you are! 

We are delighted to confirm that our experiences have been quite the opposite from the disasters about which we read. It was always a pleasure to communicate with you before, during, and after the closing, and there were never any unpleasant surprises, financial or otherwise.  From the beginning of our house search, you understood our needs; and by showing us only those places with real appeal and potential to fulfil our purposes, you wasted no one’s time. That is important when the days to inspect properties so far away from home are limited. 

You delivered more than anyone could expect in spite of a difficult and sometimes awkward vendor. And closing day, the day the final papers were signed, the money changed hands, and the keys were delivered, was, in fact, fun. Your hard work in having all the documents and preliminaries so well prepared paid off in our sailing through every step of the closing without a hitch. We wholeheartedly recommend your inclusive services to anyone contemplating buying or selling a property in Salobreña.

Dear Mike and Margaret -

Mike and I just want to thank you both for guiding us so calmly and competently through the process of buying our new home.  Apart from the hiccup and uncertainty at this end caused by the threatened strike, we have never purchased a home so effortlessly and speedily, and are most grateful to you for all your help. 

 It was quite an exhausting weekend, rather surreal in a way ! but we are absolutely thrilled with our 'place in the sun' - it would have been nice to stay a little longer.  We already feel very comfortable in Salobrena, and have no doubt at all that we have made the right decision to buy a home in this lovely part of Spain.  

We visited the office on Saturday and spoke to Janet about a couple of domestic issues and she has kindly agreed to oversee the arrival of our twin beds (from BEDS in Motril) in about two weeks time.  We also met her husband Terry in connection with the installation of our new (small !) TV and I will be in touch with him again about resiting the arial cable.  I have told them that you have a set of house keys. They tell us that there is a 'party' at Calamedina on New Years Eve and although we are coming out after Christmas, we are unfortunately flying back on New Years Eve !  Still I hope we may be able to catch up with you all while we are there and drink a festive toast !

Dear Mike and Margaret,

Jenny and I want to thank you both very much for the handling of the whole transaction from viewing through contract to our grand completion meeting on Friday past.  The advance planning required to achieve completion on Friday was noticed and much appreciated - the early start was definitely necessary. 

It was particularly pleasing to have such friendly vendors to work with. If you are in touch with the Krolls you can pass on our good wishes. We tried unsuccessfully to speak to Hubert next door regarding the gardener arrangements - no luck they seemed to disappear on Sunday  and we left early on Monday morning.  It would be really helpful if the gardener could contact you and call with you to collect payment.  In the longer term we can engage the rental people who share your office to pay gardener, cleaner and so on.

Is there any chance you could speak again to Hubert /Doppelgaz about this ? We return on 14th February with Jenny's parents and our boys.  Jenny's parents will stay for 3 weeks but we will return on the Monday evening 17th.  That should be an opportunity to firm up the gardener arrangements and sort out satellite signals, computer telephone lines and so on.

The main purpose of this message is however to thank you for the friendly interested and professional way everything was attended to on Friday by Margaret and for Mikes help in introducing us to Mike Parker and his hospitality over tapas, and for the pool viewing on Saturday. We very much appreciate all that you both did to help our purchase experience go so smoothly. See you in February !

Well it has been a few months since I bought my home on the Monte, and a fine time I am having! I thought I would drop you a line to express my feeling about the experience at Lingwoods; from the first contact, viewing's etc, to the closing of the deal, it has been easy. From helping me to register with the authorities, all the bank contacts, all the legal paper work - when you buy a house the list is endless - your team made it all so straightforward, just as one would have hoped for, but I was still very pleasantly surprised.

However what has made the whole experience very special is the details such as arranging phone transfers or help finding a gardener - simple things but still sorted by you guys. Even now some months down the line I am still receiving help and the guidance of your local knowledge; the feeling I get is like having a group of supportive friends! The depth of your knowledge, the charm, nothing is too much trouble, it's just superb. I feel I have not expressed my appreciation enough so, a very very big "thank you" to you all!
